Genealogy Open House

Saturday, April 14, 2018 9:30 am - 2:00 pm
This event does not repeat

Visit the Sterling Public Library during the Genealogy Open House and learn about researching your family history. Make connections with other researchers and pick up on the latest tips and tricks in the field of genealogy. You can also take advantage of some one-on-one assistance from local genealogists during the open house. Also, learn about online and software research tools, and try out Ancestry.com on our library’s genealogy computers.

The Betty J. Gray Genealogy and Local History Room serves the community and library patrons in many ways from researching local history to helping patrons learn their family history.  Betty J. Gray left a trust fund to help purchase materials for this department.  Whiteside County Genealogists also contribute greatly as they house their research materials in the genealogy/local history department.  Anyone is welcome to use these materials, but because of the fragile and historical nature of this collection, almost all materials in this room are for in-library use only.
